About the Conference


Under the motto "Concrete Construction 2045", the 10th DAfStb Annual Conference and 62nd Research Colloquium will be held at RWTH Aachen University on September 26 and 27. It is organised by the RWTH Institutes for Solid Construction (IMB - Professor Josef Hegger and Professor Martin Claßen) and for Building Research (ibac - Professor Michael Raupach and Professor Thomas Matschei).

During the 10th annual conference, current and future-oriented topics from the field of solid construction will be presented. Here you can expect plenary lectures on the topics:

  • Low-CO2 binders;
  • resource-efficient load-bearing structures;
  • maintenance and repair;

and the

  • Roadmap of the DAfStb on Sustainable Construction with Concrete.

In the subsequent 62nd Research Colloquium, selected lectures from the main research areas of the Institutes for Solid Construction and for Building Research will be presented, providing a comprehensive insight into currently ongoing research projects.

The topics of the research colloquium can be divided into six main areas:

  • Design + Construction
  • Maintenance + repair
  • Non-metallic reinforcement
  • Fabrication + Joining
  • Fatigue
  • Low CO2 binders

The programme of the event will be supplemented by excursions to the two chairs and a joint evening event.


The event was recognised by the NRW Chamber of Engineers as a further training event in accordance with § 6 of the Further and Continuing Training Regulations (FuWO of 26/10/2007) with 9 points.
