German Committee for Reinforced Concrete
The German Committee for Reinforced Concrete (DAfStb) has existed since 1907 and is a nationally and internationally recognised and respected expert body for the promotion of concrete construction. The focus of our work is on research activities, the preparation of guidelines for concrete construction and the documentation of knowledge in our own publications. An essential characteristic of the DAfStb's committees is their composition in the form of a "round table", in which representatives from the areas of
- Building owners and construction supervision,
- building materials industry and construction industry as well as
- science and consulting engineers/test engineers.
participate. The inclusion of all circles relevant to concrete construction in the committees, which organise their work according to the consensus principle, is what makes the broad recognition of the results possible in the first place.
